Hot Hot Hot

This past weekend was sooo hot for an April weekend. It was a great tease of summer weather and we took advantage of it. On Saturday, we spent the day outside enclosing the underside of our deck with lattice. My Dad and James did most of the manual labor while my Mom and I took care of the rest. The guys did a great job and our deck looks much nicer!!! Yesterday, James and Connor treated me to an early mother's day present. We are always really busy on holidays visiting our large family... so they took me out yesterday to celebrate instead. We visited the Jonathan Edwards Winery in CT for some wine tasting and an afternoon picnic. Since it is so close to Foxwoods Casino, we also went to visit the new MGM Grand. It was a great day and I felt like a princess getting to spend the day with my two princes!

Capron Zoo

Today we spent the day with our friends Beth & Patrick at the Capron Zoo. It is a small zoo right here in our city. It was my first time there and we really enjoyed it. It is extremely clean and well cared for and alot the animals were really active. Both Connor and Patrick seemed to really enjoy looking at all of the animals and getting to play in the sand. Connor seemed to like the otter the best... he swam right over to the glass where Connor was and spent some time just checking him out. My favorite part was getting to see the new lion cub playing with his toys... he was sooooo cute! It was a great day... we can't wait until Beth is off for the summer so we can hang out together more often.

Almost Walking

In the past couple of weeks, we have been working with Connor on his walking skills. Today he finally decided that using his push toy is FUN. He likes to push it up and down the hall as long as we continue to cheer him on. Hopefully he will have mastered walking by his first birthday!!!

Connor's godparents, Beth & Derek, are expecting a baby boy and today was their baby shower. Connor got to go and spend the day with all of the ladies. He was really well behaved and enjoyed everyone's attention.

Alot to Celebrate

Yesterday, we celebrated three occasions. Connor is sick with a pretty nasty cold, but he managed to have a good time anyway on his 11 month birthday. We had our family over for Easter brunch and a mini easter egg "hunt". Connor was a good hunter... he liked crawling around our deck putting the eggs in his basket. Joey also enjoyed the hunt once he figured out that we had put cheerios and goldfish in the eggs. We also celebrated James' 28th birthday (a day early) with cake and presents.

Weekend Fun

Last weekend, we had some free time to relax and be together as a family. On Saturday we decorated Easter eggs. Connor wasn't really into it, but we did manage to get him to put the stickers on one egg. On Sunday we took advantage of the nice weather and went for a hike at Borderland State Park. Connor and Joey both really enjoyed themselves.
