Long Week!

This week has been a very long week. Connor has been sick since Monday and I have been sick since Wednesday. We both have had nasty cases of the flu, which the doctor thinks was probably swine flu. Today we have finally started to feel better... thank God! It was tough being sick together all week. We were stuck home feeling lousy, but luckily James and my Mom really took great care of us.

On a happy note, here is a picture we took of Connor today. Now that he is feeling better, his goofy personality is coming back. This morning he found my old glasses in a draw and decided that he wanted to wear them around the house. TOO CUTE!

Happy Father's Day

This weekend we were busy celebrating Father's Day with the men in our lives. On Saturday we visited James' grandfather and then we had Nana and Pepe over for a Father's day dinner. Yesterday, Connor and I served James breakfast in bed, then we visited Artie, took my Dad out to lunch and visited my grandfather. It was a full weekend and poor James was feeling a bit under the weather, but it was great spending time with all the Dads. I forgot to take my camera yesterday so I do not have any pictures of my Dad. Sorry Dad, you know we love you!!! I also do not have any great pictures of James & Connor yesterday since James was sick but I will do my best for this post with what I have.

Here is a picture of James earlier this week...

Long Island

James and I just returned home from our 2 night getaway to Long Island's North Fork. We spent the weekend celebrating our five years of marriage by wine tasting and relaxing. We both missed Connor, but we really enjoyed spending some alone time as a couple.

We stayed in Greenport... this is a view of the pierOne of the 7 vineyards that we visited

Roger Williams Park

Today we spent the afternoon at Roger Williams Park. The weather turned out to be beautiful (we have had rain for what seems like forever). First, we took Connor for a ride on the carousel and he hated it! He spent the entire ride clinging to my shirt with tears in his eyes. After that we decided to give the paddle boats a try. Connor seemed to enjoy this a lot more. He sat pretty still for the entire half hour. It was great spending the day together as a family, especially since James and I are taking a two night getaway tomorrow. We are heading to Long Island for an early 5 year Anniversary trip and Connor is staying here with my parents. Stay tuned for pictures of that...

Luke Farias

Yesterday, our friends Beth and Derek welcomed their first baby into the world. Luke was 7 pounds 3 ounces and both him and Mom are doing great. Tonight James and I went to visit them at the hospital. He was sooooo cute! It was so amazing to hold a newborn again... both James and I had forgotten how small Connor was.

Early Father's Day

Today Connor and I treated James to an early Father's Day outing to Newport. We had a picnic lunch at Breton Point, flew our kite, and went to Cliff Walk. The weather was perfect and we all had a great time. James is the greatest Dad and Connor and I are lucky to have him in our lives.

basketball

Connor may be short for his age (he is only in the 5th percentile for height) but he is still training to be a basketball star. Check out his slam dunk skills!
